Congratulations on your purchasing this Internet keyboard. With seven buttons featured for Internet, this keyboard is the best helper when you surf on the web by using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (or later version).

This driver is designed specially for Windows NT 4.0,  Windows 95 and Windows 98.  You don't have to install the KeyMaestro driver when you are running under Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

When this driver is installed in your system, you may enjoy the extra feature which is not available for Windows ME, Windows 2000  and Windows XP. The feature is, the seven Internet buttons are reprogrammable so can be defined as a string which will save your input text time, as a combination key which becomes your most powerful hot key, as a web site which brings you to your favorite web site directly, as a execution file which launch the application most often used by just one touch. More advantages are waiting for you to explore. Now just install the driver!

  1. Insert the disk labeled 'KeyMaestro Input Device Driver' into your disk drive.
  2. Open File Explorer to find 'Setup.exe' from the disk.
  3. Double-click the 'Setup.exe'.
  4. Then follow the screen instruction to install the driver. The default installed path is set to c:\KMaestro. You have the option to change the install path during setup.
  5. When all setup procedures are finished, the operating system does not need to restart. The driver is loaded when you see the driver icon show on the taskbar.

Uninstallation

Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver.

  1. Click the KeyMaestro driver icon icon.GIF (262 bytes) and select 'Exit' command to exit the driver program.
  2. Click 'Start' (on the left-bottom taskbar).
  3. Move cursor to 'Programs' in 'Start' menu.
  4. Move cursor again to 'KeyMaestro'.
  5. Select 'Uninstall KeyMaestro'icon2.gif (1079 bytes).
  6. Click 'Yes' to confirm you want to uninstall.

Using ACPI Power Management Key / Sleep (if your keyboard is with this button)

Your keyboard has the power management key which is also can be called ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) key.

It is processed and performed by Windows not KeyMaestro driver.  As this ACPI key is performed not completely under Windows NT4.0, Windows 95 and Windows 98; the KeyMaestro driver provides an option to enable the ACPI key.  When the option is enabled, the driver will take the Windows' place to process this key.

Note:  There are other situations for the users of Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95 and Windows 98, please refer to the section ACPI Key Enabled  for more detailed information.

Sleep puts your system to sleep (power-saving) mode. Any key will wake up your system and return to the previous working status.

P.S. Windows NT 4.0 does not support Sleep function. This key will be processed as Power Off  by KeyMaestro driver if the option is enabled.

Internet Key Functions

All the keys below are reprogrammable, except Sleep. If you want to change the setting, click the KeyMaestro icon on the taskbar and select Configuration command. For more details, please refer to the section Configuration.

back.gif (1147 bytes) Back returns to the last page you viewed.
forward.gif (1139 bytes) Forward views the next page you viewed before.
wstop.gif (990 bytes) Stop If a page you are trying to view is taking too long to open, click this button.
webhome.gif (1365 bytes) Web/Home starts your Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and bring up the home page you set.
wsearch.gif (1206 bytes) Search gains access to a number of search providers.
favorite.gif (1329 bytes) Favorites selects a web page from your list of favorites.
email.gif (1548 bytes) Mail opens the default program you use for mail. If more than one email programs are installed, you may select Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs -> Email to change the default setting from Internet Explorer.

Commands in the Menu

If you click the KeyMaestro icon on the taskbar, a menu will pop up with the following commands.

This command is to change the settings for those Internet keys.

In the Configuration window, you can see the buttons lining there. The names in the first column are the fixed button names. The names in the second column are the Button Label showing the current settings.  Click on the button you wish to reconfigure. The Button Customization dialog box will appear.

  1. Select a type for this button.

You may define the button as a string of texts which needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 3000. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient.

If you want to attach a web page to the button, select 'Type in a web site address' and type in the URL of the page in the 'Address' field or click the Favorite button to select the web page from your favorites.

Type in the path to a often used application or click the Browse button to select any file on your computer.

You can click 'Select' button to see the list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for this button, or you can click the 'Default' button to set back to be the original pre-defined function.

  1. In the Button Label box, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button.

  2. Click OK.
